Hi, my name is Kai.
I am a 24 year old German self-taught 3D artist.
My strong suits are hard surface modeling, procedural texturing, rigging and animating.

My interest in 3D art started long ago, I was always fascinated by how 3D games and movies worked. I actively started to teach myself 3D modeling and everything that goes along with it to make 3D game assets about 4 years ago. Back then I started out with Autodesk's 3ds Max 2011, switched to 3ds Max 2013 along the road, but in the end stuck with Blender.

I also have experience with Autodesk's Mudbox, Pixologic's ZBrush and Sculptris. I used to create textures by hand for quite some time, but I recently started creating them with Allegorithmic's Substance Designer and Substance Painter. These two tools also allowed me to expand my knowledge on creating textures from the traditional Phong shader method to PBR. By now most of the time I create textures for both methods and try to make them look as good as possible.

By now I have worked as a contributor to two Game-Mod projects as a 3D artist and animator. There I was able to expand my knowledge to making models for both Unity 3D and Valve's Source engine.

Right now I am about to finish an apprenticeship as a programmer for application Development.
I am fluent in Java and C++, but I have greater interest in and enthusiasm for 3D modeling.
